Fez News: Residents of the Karyan El Hajoui neighborhood and traders of the Marché Karyan El Hajoui market in the city of Fez have expressed their strong dissatisfaction and deep resentment over the “miserable state” of cleanliness management in the neighborhood and market by the new cleaning company “Comimar,” which is responsible for the sector.
A local source informed “Fez News” that the neighborhood and market are experiencing a significant and continuous accumulation of garbage and waste, noting that the photos received by the newspaper “are the biggest proof of the extent of neglect and mismanagement that the area is witnessing in terms of cleanliness.”
Those affected expressed their deep concern regarding the negative impacts of this situation on their health and safety, as well as on commercial activity and the overall appearance of the neighborhood. They emphasized that the accumulation of waste has become a breeding ground for insects and rodents, in addition to the unpleasant odors that disturb both residents and traders.
In this context, the residents and traders of the Karyan El Hajoui neighborhood have made an urgent appeal to the concerned authorities, primarily the Fez Commune and the relevant health departments, for immediate and urgent intervention to put an end to this “unacceptable” situation and to take the necessary measures against the cleaning company “Comimar” to ensure that it performs its duties fully.
The protesters demanded the activation of the terms of the specifications that bind the Commune to the company and strict monitoring of the quality of services provided to ensure a clean and healthy environment for residents and traders alike. They also called for the need to find radical and effective solutions to the problem of waste accumulation in a way that guarantees the dignity of citizens and the health of their surroundings.
