Rabat: The Moroccan Ministry of Interior has flatly denied the veracity of recently circulated news regarding any intention on its part or that of relevant authorities to set a date for elections before the year 2026. An official source within the Ministry affirmed, in an official statement, that these rumors are “incorrect and have no basis in reality.”
This explicit official denial comes to put an end to the speculations and rumors that have recently spread widely about the possibility of holding early legislative elections in the Kingdom of Morocco.
In this context, the responsible source stressed the necessity of exercising caution and referring to official channels and reliable sources to obtain and circulate accurate information, in order to avoid falling into the trap of false and misleading news that may cause confusion and affect public opinion. The source emphasized that the Ministry of Interior is the authorized body to announce any developments related to the electoral process in due course, and that any other news circulated outside this framework is baseless.
