According to reliable sources, fuel prices are expected to experience a slight decrease at distribution stations nationwide, starting today. This decline is attributed to the unprecedented drop in crude oil prices on the global market.
Available data indicates that the price of Brent crude oil, which is a key reference for Morocco, has fallen below $60 per barrel, with forecasts predicting that this downward trend will continue, potentially reaching $40 in the coming days, due to decreased global demand and the continued production levels maintained by OPEC+.
According to the same sources, the price of diesel is expected to decrease by an average of 20 cents per liter, while gasoline prices will also drop by nearly the same amount. This reduction will help alleviate some of the transportation and road transport costs in the country.
It is worth noting that fuel prices in Morocco remain linked to fluctuations in the international market, given the lack of a direct price support mechanism since the liberalization of the sector several years ago.
