A large fire broke out in a house located on Rue Albania, behind the Saad Ibn Abi Waqas Mosque, in the Manflouri area of Fez on Tuesday night. The blaze resulted in substantial material losses, though fortunately, no human casualties were reported.
The fire started around 10:00 PM and completely consumed an apartment on the first floor, which consisted of a living room, a lounge, a cigar room, and a bedroom. The flames destroyed all of the contents inside.
The fire necessitated an urgent intervention from civil protection teams, who faced difficulties in reaching the site and extinguishing the blaze due to the narrow alleys surrounding the area and the nearby informal market.
Despite the considerable material damage to the house, the most significant aspect of the incident is that no lives were lost.
