Fez – Plea from the Heart of Factories: Urgent Demands for Infrastructure Upgrade in Industrial Zones to Save Investment

The fragile infrastructure in several industrial zones in Fez continues to provoke a wave of discontent among business owners and workers, particularly in the Sidi Brahim industrial district, amidst what those affected describe as an “unjustified neglect” of the real requirements for industrial development.

In this context, the Vice-President of the Chamber of Industry, Commerce, and Services of the Fez-Meknes region called for the urgent launch of comprehensive infrastructure rehabilitation projects within this vital industrial fabric, given its direct impact on attracting investment, revitalizing the economic cycle, and preserving job opportunities.

The speaker emphasized that a historic opportunity is being threatened with loss due to the waste of industrial and economic time, stressing the importance of addressing the delays in other industrial zones such as Bensouda, Dkarat, and Ras El Ma.

For his part, the President of the Agdal district appealed to the concerned authorities to provide sufficient financial allocations for the development of these areas, pointing out the crucial role they play in social stability and economic growth in the city.

Economic actors hope that the authorities and relevant ministerial departments will interact urgently to do justice to these industrial zones, which form the beating heart of Fez’s industry.
