Just Days Before Its Reopening: Wali Emhidia and Fouzi Lekjaa Inspect Renovation Works at Mohammed V Complex

As part of the preparations for the reopening of the Mohammed V Complex in Casablanca, Fouzi Lekjaa, President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, carried out an inspection visit accompanied by Mohamed Emhidia, Wali of the Greater Casablanca Region, as well as the presidents of Wydad and Raja Clubs, Hicham Ait Manna and Abdellah Bairouane. The visit also included the Mayor of Casablanca, Nabila Rmili, along with several prominent figures.

During the visit, officials reviewed the upgrades and new features added to the complex following extensive renovations that covered its various facilities. The Mohammed V Complex, considered one of the most iconic sports landmarks in the Kingdom, is expected to host the upcoming derby of the economic capital between Wydad and Raja next Saturday.

In a statement, Fouzi Lekjaa affirmed that the complex is now fully prepared to host an exceptional “football celebration” between two historic clubs with massive followings in the Arab and African worlds. He emphasized the symbolic significance of choosing this derby as the first match to be played in the renovated stadium, calling it a celebration of the revival of this historic sports venue.

Lekjaa added that the Mohammed V Complex is not merely a football stadium but a true symbol of Casablanca and a living memory of Moroccan sports. It stands as a testament to the tremendous progress made in the country’s sports infrastructure.
