The elements of the Wilaya Judicial Police Service in Marrakech city managed, on the evening of Saturday, April 5th, to thwart a large-scale smuggling and trafficking operation of narcotic pills, based on precise information provided by the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance. The operation resulted in the arrest of four people, including two brothers and two women, suspected of involvement in the possession and trafficking of drugs and psychotropic substances.
This security operation was carried out in field coordination with the elements of the Royal Gendarmerie, and a residential apartment in the Tamansourt area was raided, where 14,736 narcotic pills were seized, including 9,077 ecstasy pills and 5,659 medical narcotic pills of the “Rivotril” and “Lyrica” types. Two light cars and two motorcycles used in this criminal activity were also seized.
The initial investigations revealed that one of the detainees was wanted nationwide for suspected involvement in the trafficking of psychotropic substances.
The four detainees were placed in custody pending the investigation, which is being conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor, to determine all the circumstances of this case and identify the potential extensions of this criminal network at the national level.
