Healthcare Vocational Training Institute Graduates Sound the Alarm: 200 Annual Graduates for Only 83 Positions

The National Committee of Trainees and Graduates of Healthcare Vocational Training Institutes (IFPS) has revealed a severe unemployment crisis affecting graduates of Emergency and Medical Transport specialization, amid limited available job opportunities.

In a statement, the committee explained that the annual number of graduates reaches 200, while positions allocated by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection do not exceed 83, leaving dozens of qualified professionals unemployed.

The statement highlighted a significant disparity in position distribution across regions, with a complete absence of recruitment in Casablanca-Settat, Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra, and Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab regions, while the Eastern region allocated 20 positions and Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region offered 22 positions.

The committee denounced the practice of allowing Technical Assistant certificate holders to drive ambulances while specialized graduates remain unemployed for up to four years.

The committee’s main demands include:

  • Allocating sufficient positions to absorb all unemployed graduates
  • Temporarily freezing training programs until current graduates are employed
  • Providing opportunities for academic advancement for sector workers

The committee also raised concerns about the absence of compensation and grants during the two-year training period, placing significant financial pressure on trainees and their families.

The committee warned of a worsening crisis in the future as training continues in vocational centers without guaranteed job positions for graduates, calling on relevant authorities to intervene urgently to address this situation.
