A massive fire broke out this afternoon, Thursday, around 4:20 PM, on the fourth floor of a residential building located on Al-Qadisiyyah Street, near Café Kamal, in the Lido neighborhood of Fes.
According to information received by Fes News, the fire started inside the bedroom, causing significant material damage as the flames completely destroyed the room’s contents. Fortunately, no human casualties were reported.
The cause of the fire is believed to be a phone charger left plugged into the electrical socket, which led to an electrical short circuit that quickly escalated into a devastating fire in the room.
Upon being notified of the incident, civil protection teams swiftly intervened and managed to control the fire, preventing it from spreading to other areas of the apartment and the building. Meanwhile, the authorities have opened an investigation to determine the circumstances and causes of the incident.
This event brings to the forefront the dangers of leaving phone chargers plugged into electrical sockets, especially in light of the increasing number of similar incidents in recent years.
