The series of attacks against educators continues in many regions of the country, with recent incidents showing an alarming escalation in this trend. According to local sources, a social studies teacher at the 2nd October 1955 High School in the town of Aknoul, in the Taza province, was unexpectedly assaulted by a student from the first year of the baccalaureate in the Arts track. The attack resulted in a double fracture of the teacher’s nose, which required surgery at Ibn Bajah Hospital in Taza, where the teacher is still receiving treatment.
According to reports from the National Education Union, the union condemned the incident and called for an urgent investigation to clarify the circumstances of the assault and take the necessary legal actions against the aggressor.
On the other hand, the principal of the Wadi Maghra Schools Group in the Tigrikra area, part of the Ifrane province, was assaulted by an individual described as “stranger” last Thursday evening inside his workplace. According to statements from the Ifrane Provincial Directorate of Education, the principal was transferred to the regional hospital in Azrou for necessary first aid.
These incidents continue to highlight the significant challenges faced by the education sector in the country, calling for urgent measures to ensure the protection of educational and administrative staff in all schools.
