Local sources have reported that a gendarmerie officer from the motorcycle unit in Meknes lost his life last Tuesday in a severe traffic accident on the highway connecting Khemisset and Meknes.
According to the same sources, the accident occurred while the victim was returning from a special mission. He was involved in the crash near Meknes after entering the highway from Khemisset. Preliminary information suggests that adverse weather conditions, particularly heavy rainfall, may have caused him to lose control of his high-speed motorcycle, leading to the fatal accident.
The sources added that the late officer’s body was transported on Wednesday to his hometown, where he was laid to rest in a funeral attended by numerous officials and gendarmerie commanders, amid an atmosphere of sorrow and grief.
