Meknes Municipality Bans Installation of Communication Antennas on Residential Roofs and Imposes Strict Licensing Requirements

In an effort to ensure traffic safety and protect public health, the Meknes Municipality has decided to ban the full installation of communication antennas on residential rooftops unless explicit approval is obtained from the municipal authorities.

According to available information, administrative and technical services, along with the relevant authorities, have been tasked with implementing this decision. The directive, which came into effect across all neighborhoods under the jurisdiction of the Meknes Municipality, was signed by Mayor Abbas El Omghari. The concerned authorities were notified, and copies of the decision were sent to urban area heads, the Meknes Security Chief, as well as the head of the municipal police and monitoring department to oversee its execution.

This decision is based on the Organic Law No. 14-113 related to municipalities, enacted by the Royal Decree No. 85-115 dated July 7, 2015, along with Decree No. 157.78.2 issued on May 26, 1980, which defines the conditions for implementing measures to ensure the security and safety of citizens.
