Recently, a rumor has circulated suggesting that Israel is preparing to relocate Gaza residents to Morocco. These unfounded claims emerged following statements by U.S. President Donald Trump during a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding a project to relocate Gaza residents.
While several Israeli media outlets reported this information, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz never mentioned Morocco as a potential destination for Gaza residents. Israeli Consul General Israel Bachar also clarified the rumors concerning Morocco, denying these allegations and confirming that Morocco has no connection to any project to relocate Gaza residents.
This disinformation campaign aims to tarnish the image of the Kingdom, whose unwavering commitment to the Palestinian cause remains steadfast and grounded in clear principles.
It is worth noting that the U.S. president suggested relocating Palestinians from Gaza to neighboring countries such as Egypt or Jordan to allow for the complete reconstruction of the area, which he envisions transforming into a “Middle Eastern Riviera.” Trump stated, “We will take control of the Gaza Strip… We will level it, create economic development that will provide an unlimited number of jobs and housing for the region’s residents.”
