A political source told Fez News that the urban transportation crisis in Fez has reached complex levels, questioning the ability of the group’s presidency and council to make fateful decisions in the presence of members prosecuted in serious cases, noting that some of them are sentenced in first instance and on appeal to prison.
The source added: “How can we expect wise management of a sensitive file such as urban transportation, while the most important pillars of the council are facing judicial prosecution? This situation reflects the lack of trust and transparency in the management of public affairs, and further complicates the administrative and political scene in the city.”
The source stressed that the urban transportation file requires decisive intervention from the Ministry of Interior to save the service and ensure its continuity, especially as the 2025 Africa Cup approaches, calling for managing the transitional period wisely and away from hasty decisions that may lead to wasting public money and involving the state budget.
The source concluded by emphasizing the need to put an end to this situation that harms the interests of the city and its residents, stressing the importance of promoting integrity and transparency in the management of local affairs.
