The 21st edition of the International Textile and Apparel Exhibition kicked off yesterday in Casablanca, organized by the Moroccan Association of Textile and Apparel Industries in partnership with CEMS-Global USA.
Running until November 9, this event serves as a central platform to highlight Morocco’s increasing role as a leading hub in the textile and apparel industry both regionally and internationally.
The opening was attended by numerous officials, investors, and industry leaders who discussed the strategic importance of the sector in supporting Morocco’s economy. Speakers emphasized that the textile sector is a key driver of employment, creating over 230,000 jobs with women representing close to 60% of the workforce. The industry’s presence extends across Morocco, not just in major cities.
In line with the 2025 Finance Bill, the Moroccan government has allocated a budget of 14 billion MAD to support small and medium enterprises, which make up 80% of the textile industry. Of this budget, 12 billion MAD will specifically target production and export support for SMEs in sectors including textiles, with an additional 1 billion MAD dedicated to job creation within the industry.
This year’s exhibition features 17 emerging Moroccan brands showcased for the first time, aiming to attract international attention and break into new markets. Morocco aspires for its national brands to lead the export market in apparel, especially as the country prepares to co-host the 2030 World Cup—a potential global stage for Moroccan brands.
The Casablanca International Textile Exhibition presents a significant opportunity to advance the local textile industry, fostering strong partnerships that could boost national exports and elevate the visibility of Moroccan brands worldwide.
