As part of ongoing efforts to modernize justice facilities, the city of Agadir and the Chtouka Aït Baha region saw the inauguration of several temporary yet modern judicial establishments on Thursday, November 7, 2024, led by Minister of Justice Abdellatif Ouahbi.
These facilities represent a significant element of the Ministry of Justice’s strategic goal to bring justice closer to citizens and provide a work environment that aligns with the growing demands of the justice sector.
The temporary headquarters of the Administrative Court of Appeal was officially opened, constructed on an area of 3,426 square meters, with a budget of 333,780 MAD. This two-story building includes various offices and a dedicated courtroom, aiming to enhance the efficiency of administrative judiciary procedures in the region.
Additionally, the city witnessed the inauguration of the temporary headquarters of the Commercial Court of Appeal, which spans 5,667 square meters with a budget of 1,018,404 MAD. This establishment, consisting of 16 offices and a courtroom, will primarily handle complex commercial cases in the dynamic economic region of Souss-Massa.
Meanwhile, in Biougra (Chtouka Aït Baha Province), the Primary Court and Family Court Section were also inaugurated. Built on a spacious area of 9,500 square meters at a cost exceeding 77.56 million MAD, the architectural design of these facilities elegantly combines traditional Moroccan style with modern infrastructure.
This project is expected to deliver integrated judicial services in a modern and efficient environment, with digital screens and advanced applications providing judicial information, enhancing transparency, and saving time for the public.
In his remarks, the Minister of Justice emphasized that these new projects are part of the Ministry’s vision to improve accessibility to justice and strengthen public trust in the judiciary, especially in the Souss-Massa region, which is experiencing significant urban and economic growth.
Ouahbi added that these facilities, inaugurated as part of the 49th anniversary of the Green March, signify a transformation in justice service delivery, leveraging new technologies to ease access to information and reduce the workload for court staff.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by prominent figures, including Mohamed Abdennabaoui, Deputy President of the Supreme Council of Judicial Authority, the Wali of the Souss-Massa region, heads of judicial bodies, local elected officials, and representatives from professional judicial associations.
This accomplishment enhances the judicial infrastructure of the Souss-Massa region, ensuring citizens’ right to accessible, technologically advanced justice services, embodying the Ministry’s vision for a judicial system that is close to the people and efficient in delivering justice.
