Morocco – The General Directorate of Meteorology in Morocco has issued an “orange” level warning alerting to the expectation of strong thunderstorms accompanied by hail and gusty winds in several regions of the kingdom over the coming days.

The Directorate clarified that the provinces of Oued Ed-Dahab and Aousserd in the south will witness thunderstorms ranging between 30 and 40 mm today, Tuesday, from 2 PM until 11 PM.
As for tomorrow, Wednesday, the weather phenomenon will extend to include other areas in the east and southeast of the kingdom. Figuig, Jerada, Oujda-Angad, Taourirt, Boulemane, Midelt, and Errachidia will be affected by thunderstorms that may reach up to 60 mm. This weather condition is expected to last from 6 AM on Wednesday until 6 AM on Thursday.
The General Directorate of Meteorology urges citizens to exercise caution during this period, especially in the mentioned areas, due to the possibility of sudden floods or landslides in mountainous regions. The authorities also advise drivers to be cautious while driving due to reduced visibility and the risk of slipping on roads.
