Interior Minister Abdelwafi Lefteit announced the appointment of Mohamed Tawas as acting governor of Al-Houz province, replacing Rachid Bencheikhi.
The decision came after the former governor, Rachid Bencheikhi, was dismissed for health reasons.
Mohamed Tawas had previously served as the secretary-general of the Al-Houz governorate, in the context of a wide transition in the ranks of the authorities, as he was the head of the internal affairs department in the Tangier Tetouan Al-Hoceima governorate, next to Governor Mohamed Mehidiya.
