FEZ (FesNews Media) — In a compelling testimony highlighting growing concerns over municipal and economic licensing procedures in Fez, a young entrepreneur behind a recreational project, accompanied by his mother, told FesNews Media that he is being forced to abandon his dream project after losing nearly 150,000 MAD in fit-out expenses due to licensing obstacles on the “Rokhas” digital platform and what he described as prior threats of blockage from an influential local authority official.
This testimony comes directly on the heels of an earlier report published by FesNews titled “Fez Investor to FesNews: ‘Fabricated Neighborhood Objections’ Undermine the Rokhas Economic Platform and Warrant an Official Audit”, underscoring wider complaints from local investors and youth project holders whose self-employment initiatives face administrative bottlenecks despite national digitalization reforms.
“I will have to give up my dream because of licensing hurdles on the Rokhas platform and because an influential local authority official explicitly vowed that I would not get it. I lost nearly 150,000 MAD equipping the premises, all my legal documents are in order, and the property is a commercial unit—yet the pretext that ‘residents object’ was raised to place my project in the crosshairs of rejection.” — Young entrepreneur speaking to FesNews Media.
Entrepreneur’s Mother Questions Neutrality of Public Convenience Inquiries and Digital Blockage
Speaking alongside her son to FesNews Media, the young entrepreneur’s mother questioned how a fully compliant commercial unit in which the family invested 150,000 MAD could be paralyzed through unverified neighborhood objection claims. She posed a direct question to oversight authorities: “When will public convenience and impact inquiries (Commodo et Incommodo) become genuinely neutral assessments that address real harm where it exists, rather than being used as a pretext for extortion and digital blockage on the Rokhas platform?”
Both the young project holder and his mother called on regional authorities at the Wilaya of the Fez-Meknes Region and central oversight bodies to conduct an impartial review of rejected and stalled applications on the Rokhas platform across Fez’s districts to protect youth entrepreneurship, while the right of reply and clarification remains fully open to the concerned local and municipal authorities.
