Fes – Hot weather will continue across several parts of the Fes-Meknes Region today, Friday, August 7, 2026, particularly in the Saiss Plain, which includes the cities of Fes and Meknes, according to forecasts issued by Morocco’s General Directorate of Meteorology. Cumulus cloud development is expected over the Middle Atlas Mountains and neighboring areas, with the possibility of localized thunderstorms, accompanied by moderate to occasionally strong winds in some locations.
According to the forecast, temperatures will remain relatively high across Fes, Meknes, and large parts of the region, with a slight increase during the daytime over the Saiss Plain. Cooler conditions are expected in the mountainous areas of Ifrane, Sefrou, and Boulemane, especially during the morning and nighttime hours.

Hot to relatively hot weather with clear to partly cloudy skies and a slight rise in daytime temperatures.
Meknes Prefecture
Stable and relatively hot conditions, with sunny weather throughout most of the day and a limited increase in temperatures.
Moulay Yacoub Province
Continued hot weather across the Saiss Plain, with light to moderate winds during the evening.
Sefrou Province
Clouds are expected to develop over the surrounding mountains, with a chance of localized thunderstorms and showers during the afternoon and evening, particularly in mountainous areas.
Ifrane Province
More moderate weather compared with the rest of the region, with cumulus clouds likely to develop over the highlands, bringing scattered thunderstorms.
Boulemane Province
Stable weather during the morning, with the possibility of localized thunderstorms over the mountains and eastern slopes during the evening.
Taza Province
Relatively hot conditions across the plains, with a chance of localized thunderstorms in nearby mountainous areas, especially at higher elevations.
Taounate Province
Stable summer weather with relatively high temperatures, partly cloudy skies, and moderate winds at times.
Moderate wind gusts are also expected in parts of the region, while the probability of thunderstorms remains mainly limited to the Middle Atlas Mountains and surrounding areas, with no significant impact expected across the rest of the provinces.
The relevant authorities advise residents, especially older adults, children, and outdoor workers, to avoid direct exposure to the sun during peak daytime hours and to drink sufficient amounts of water, particularly in areas expected to experience high temperatures.
