In a significant step toward modernizing the urban space of the scientific capital, a project to upgrade infrastructure in the Agdal district was launched, aiming to improve the responsiveness of global positioning systems (GPS) and facilitate access to smart maps, thereby contributing to reducing traffic congestion in the area.
This project comes within efforts to keep pace with technological advancements in urban mobility, as the new infrastructure will enable navigation systems and map applications to obtain accurate and real-time data on traffic flow. This will allow drivers to choose less congested routes and avoid traffic jams that frequently occur in the heart of Agdal district, especially during peak hours.
The work, which is part of the recently approved new development plan for Agdal district, included updating digital networks and enhancing technological equipment to support the city’s digital transformation, aligning with preparations to host major events such as the 2030 World Cup.
This qualitative investment in smart infrastructure aims to improve citizens’ quality of life by facilitating their daily commutes and reflects a commitment to boosting Fes’s attractiveness as a modern urban hub adopting innovative solutions to address urban growth challenges.
