Palau Reaffirms Full Support for Morocco’s Sovereignty Over the Sahara and Signs Cooperation Roadmap.

The Republic of Palau, an island nation in the Pacific Ocean, has reaffirmed its full support for Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara, reiterating its recognitionThis position was expressed during a bilateral meeting held Tuesday in New York between Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, and Palau’s Minister of State, Gustav Ngeraschelu Aitaro.

During the meeting, both parties signed a cooperation roadmap for the period 2025–2027, in line with the Royal directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, aimed at strengthening South-South cooperation with developing countries.

As part of this roadmap, Palau reaffirmed its support for Morocco’s efforts to achieve a realistic and lasting political solution to the Sahara issue, praising the “serious and credible efforts” undertaken by the Kingdom in this regard.

Palau also stressed that Morocco’s Autonomy Initiative, within the framework of the Kingdom’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, remains the only viable solution to the conflict. This stance is consistent with UN of the Kingdom’s authority over its southern provinces. Palau also stressed that Morocco’s Autonomy Initiative represents the only viable solution to the regional dispute over the Sahara.
