Morocco – Judicial police services in the city of Tangier arrested a man on Monday, August 31, 2026, who is suspected of offering old shells for sale through social media platforms, under circumstances that could pose a danger to the safety of people and property.
According to initial information, security services opened an investigation into the case after the information monitoring services detected an advertisement posted on social media offering a collection of old shells for sale.
Technical investigations and field inquiries led to the identification and arrest of the suspect in Tangier. The operation also resulted in the seizure of five old shells, which were placed at the disposal of specialized experts to precisely determine their nature and assess their level of danger.
According to the available information, the shells are believed to date back to the period of the Protectorate in northern Morocco, pending the results of technical examinations regarding their nature and components.
The suspect was placed under judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, with the aim of determining all the circumstances and details of the case, as well as verifying whether it may be linked to other acts that could warrant legal proceedings.
The competent services are continuing their investigations into the case, pending completion of the legal procedures and expert examinations related to the seized items.
Maroc – Les services de la police judiciaire de la ville de Tanger ont interpellé, lundi 31 août 2026, un individu soupçonné d’avoir proposé à la vente d’anciens obus sur les réseaux sociaux, dans des circonstances susceptibles de présenter un danger pour la sécurité des personnes et des biens.
Selon les premières informations, les services de sécurité ont ouvert une enquête dans cette affaire après avoir détecté, par l’intermédiaire des services de veille informatique, une annonce publiée sur les réseaux sociaux proposant à la vente un lot d’anciens obus.
Les investigations techniques et les recherches menées sur le terrain ont permis d’identifier et d’interpeller le suspect à Tanger. L’opération a également permis la saisie de cinq anciens obus, qui ont été remis à des experts spécialisés afin de déterminer précisément leur nature et d’évaluer leur niveau de dangerosité.
Selon les informations disponibles, ces obus seraient probablement liés à la période du protectorat dans le nord du Maroc, dans l’attente des résultats des expertises techniques concernant leur nature et leurs composants.
Le suspect a été soumis à une enquête judiciaire sous la supervision du parquet compétent, afin de déterminer l’ensemble des circonstances et des tenants et aboutissants de cette affaire, ainsi que de vérifier son éventuel lien avec d’autres faits susceptibles de faire l’objet de poursuites judiciaires.
Les services compétents poursuivent leurs investigations dans cette affaire, dans l’attente de l’achèvement des procédures légales et des expertises liées aux objets saisis.
