In a coordinated security operation, elements of the Royal Gendarmerie from the territorial center in Ahd Messila, located in the Taza province, carried out a targeted intervention in a douar within the Beni Walid commune of Taounate province, aimed at arresting a major drug trafficker. The suspect’s identity remains undisclosed and he was identified as the main supplier of narcotics seized during a previous arrest in the Al-Bararha commune.
This operation was based on precise intelligence related to the suspect’s involvement in trafficking and distributing chira (hashish), kif powder, and related substances, including taba papers (tobacco rolling papers).
The initiative followed the arrest of a local dealer on September 2, 2025, in Ahd Messila, who was found in possession of quantities of chira. Subsequent interrogations revealed the supplier’s location, prompting coordination with the Beni Walid gendarmerie unit. The suspect was surrounded and arrested in the douar, where authorities confiscated approximately 40 kilograms of kif, 1 kilogram of chira, and taba papers.
Both individuals have been placed under judicial custody pending further investigation on orders from the public prosecutor. This operation highlights ongoing efforts to dismantle drug trafficking networks across Moroccan provinces. No additional incidents have been reported as of September 9, 2025.
