Rabat, Morocco – As part of the ongoing dynamic pursued by the High Command of the Royal Gendarmerie, the institution has released the results of a broad transfer movement that affected various regional commands. It included prominent changes in positions of responsibility in several cities across the Kingdom with the aim of injecting new blood and enhancing security effectiveness.
The city of Meknes witnessed a change in its regional command, where Colonel Ali Belkaid was appointed as the head of the Royal Gendarmerie’s regional command, having previously held the same position in Kenitra. Colonel Belkaid succeeds Colonel-Major Zerriouh in his post, who was appointed as the commander of the Royal Gendarmerie’s regional command in Casablanca.
The transfer movement also resulted in the appointment of Colonel-Major Malkouni as the regional commander in Tangier. It is worth noting that both Colonel-Major Zerriouh and Colonel-Major Malkouni previously held regional command duties in Meknes, which gave them extensive field experience in security management and dealing with files related to road safety and crime fighting.
The new appointments also included assigning Colonel-Major Mastour to the regional command in Taza, and Colonel-Major Abbad to the regional command in Nador. Additionally, Colonel-Major El Ouali was appointed as the regional commander in Dakhla, and Colonel El Kadiri as the head of the regional command in Ouarzazate.
Among the other names included in the movement are Colonel Hassouan, who took over the regional command in Beni Mellal, while the command of the regional gendarmerie in Khenifra was assigned to Colonel Mamou.
These appointments come in the context of efforts aimed at modernizing and developing the security performance of the Royal Gendarmerie, ensuring a better response to the needs of citizens in the areas of security and stability across different regions of the country.
