Mercedes-Benz Recalls Thousands of Cars Due to a Technical Flaw in the Steering Wheel

Rabat, August 23, 2025 – Mercedes-Benz USA has announced a large-scale recall campaign involving thousands of its modern vehicles due to a potential technical defect that could pose a risk to the safety of drivers and passengers.

According to an official recall notice published by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in the United States, the campaign includes 3,749 vehicles from specific classes of the EQE and GLC models manufactured between 2023 and 2026.

The notice explained that the potential defect lies in a steering wheel bolt that may not be properly fastened. Should the bolt detach, the steering wheel could separate from the steering column, causing a complete loss of vehicle control and significantly increasing the risk of a collision.

This step is part of the company’s commitment to safety and quality standards. Mercedes-Benz has affirmed that it will repair the defect free of charge for all affected vehicles. The company is set to contact the owners of the vehicles included in the recall campaign to inform them of the details and provide the necessary instructions for taking corrective action as soon as possible.

This measure is considered a crucial preventative step to ensure consumer safety and reflects the seriousness with which manufacturers address any technical defects that may appear in their products.
