Regional Directorate of Health and Social Protection in Fes-Meknes Participates in the Third Edition of the Ismailia Doctors Forum

The Regional Directorate of Health and Social Protection in the Fes-Meknes region participated in the third edition of the Ismailia Doctors Forum, held on December 6 and 7, 2024, in Meknes. This participation coincided with World AIDS Day, during which the Directorate set up an awareness booth to highlight the dangers of HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted infections, and viral hepatitis.

The booth, under the slogan “Together for a Morocco Free from AIDS,” showcased the efforts made within the framework of the 2024-2030 regional strategic plan. Doctors from both the public and private sectors were introduced to the health services available for early detection of these diseases through free and confidential mechanisms in primary health care centers, non-governmental organizations, and correctional institutions. The booth also highlighted the free medications and treatments provided by the ministry for those affected.

Activities included the distribution of informational materials on transmission routes and prevention methods, emphasizing the importance of early detection, especially for pregnant women. The booth garnered significant interaction from over 70 doctors, who expressed their commitment to contributing towards the goal of eliminating AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases by 2030.
