The city of Fez-Meknes recently witnessed a protest organized by football associations affiliated with the Fez-Meknes Regional League. The protesters expressed their deep dissatisfaction with what they described as “blatant violations of game rules and injustice against the teams under its umbrella.”
Protesters carried banners appealing to Mr. Fouzi Lekjaa, President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, to intervene urgently to enforce the law and ensure fairness for the clubs. They also demanded the convening of the league’s general assembly and the submission of administrative and financial reports before the start of the 2024-2025 sports season.
Another banner pointed to “great discontent within the Fez-Meknes League” due to what they considered “flagrant violations of game rules and injustice against affiliated teams,” which led them to call on the President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation to intervene and address their grievances.
Women’s teams affiliated with the Fez-Meknes Regional League also demanded an end to unfair treatment and the enforcement of game regulations on the league to revitalize women’s football in the region.
This protest comes in the context of strained relations between some local clubs and the bodies responsible for organizing football in the region, highlighting the need for constructive dialogue to resolve disputes and ensure fair application of laws and regulations.
