The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) announced on Wednesday morning that Ismail Haniyeh, the head of its political bureau, was assassinated in the Iranian capital Tehran.
According to Iranian reports, his residence was targeted by a Zionist airstrike that killed him and one of his bodyguards.
Hamas condemned the attack as a “cowardly” act and said the response to the assassination would not be delayed. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard reported that it is conducting investigations to find out the circumstances of the incident.
