Fez Judicial Police Open Investigation into Ain Amir Murder-Suicide: Preliminary Findings Point to Divorce Dispute Between 59-Year-Old Husband and 52-Year-Old Wife

FEZ (FesNews Media) — The Prefectural Judicial Police Service in Fez opened a judicial investigation on Wednesday afternoon, November 4, 2026, under the supervision of the competent Public Prosecutor’s Office, to determine the full circumstances surrounding a 59-year-old man who fatally shot his wife before taking his own life in the Ain Amir neighborhood of the Saiss district.

According to preliminary investigation findings, the suspect used a hunting rifle inside the couple’s apartment in Fez to fatally shoot his 52-year-old wife, before immediately turning the same firearm on himself.

The bodies of both deceased spouses have been transferred to the Forensic Medicine Department to undergo the autopsy ordered by the competent Public Prosecutor’s Office.

Investigations and inquiries remain ongoing to establish all circumstances and backgrounds of the case, which preliminary findings indicate stemmed from family disputes related to divorce proceedings between the spouses.
