Morocco confirms the start of Jumada al-Awwal 1448 AH for Tuesday, October 13

Morocco – The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs has announced that the first day of Jumada al-Awwal in the Islamic year 1448 AH will fall on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, after the crescent moon could not be sighted on the evening of Sunday, October 11.

In a statement, the ministry explained that it monitored the crescent moon marking the beginning of Jumada al-Awwal on the evening of Sunday, 29 Rabii al-Thani 1448 AH, corresponding to October 11, 2026. It contacted delegates of Islamic Affairs and units of the Royal Armed Forces, which confirmed that the sighting of the crescent moon had not been established.

Based on the results of the observation process, the month of Rabii al-Thani will complete 30 days, making Tuesday, October 13, 2026, the first day of Jumada al-Awwal.

The ministry concluded its statement by praying that God would grant this blessed occasion to the Commander of the Faithful, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, Prince Moulay Rachid, and all members of the Royal Family with abundant health and happiness. It also prayed for further progress and prosperity for the Moroccan people and the Islamic nation.

Le Maroc fixe la date du 1er Joumada al-Oula 1448 H au mardi 13 octobre

Maroc – Le ministère des Habous et des Affaires islamiques a annoncé que le premier jour du mois de Joumada al-Oula de l’année 1448 de l’Hégire correspondra au mardi 13 octobre 2026, après l’impossibilité d’observer le croissant lunaire dans la soirée du dimanche 11 octobre.

Dans un communiqué, le ministère a précisé avoir procédé à l’observation du croissant lunaire de Joumada al-Oula dans la soirée du dimanche 29 Rabii al-Thani 1448 H, correspondant au 11 octobre 2026. À cette occasion, il a contacté les délégués des Affaires islamiques ainsi que les unités des Forces armées royales, qui ont confirmé que l’observation du croissant n’avait pas été établie.

Sur la base des résultats de cette opération d’observation, le mois de Rabii al-Thani comptera trente jours. Le premier jour de Joumada al-Oula sera donc célébré le mardi 13 octobre 2026.

Le ministère a conclu son communiqué en priant Dieu de renouveler cette heureuse occasion pour le Commandeur des croyants, Sa Majesté le Roi Mohammed VI, pour le Prince héritier Moulay El Hassan, le Prince Moulay Rachid et l’ensemble des membres de la famille royale, en leur accordant santé et bonheur. Il a également imploré Dieu d’accorder davantage de progrès et de prospérité au peuple marocain et à la nation islamique.
