In a notable humanitarian move, the head of the Dar Dbibagh administrative district supervised a field operation targeting several vulnerable individuals who spend their nights and carry out simple activities outdoors, amid the severe cold wave affecting the city of Fès in recent days.
Relocation of Homeless People to a Shelter Center
This initiative made it possible to transfer a number of homeless individuals to the Reception Center for People Without Shelter in the Bensouda area, where they can benefit from accommodation as well as medical and social care services, as part of efforts to protect this vulnerable group from the risks posed by sharply dropping temperatures.
A Well-Organized Field Operation
The operation took place on Wednesday evening, January 7, 2025, with the participation of local authorities, local administrative agents, and territorial guards. The field campaign covered several streets and alleys in the Dar Dbibagh district and resulted in the relocation of 11 vulnerable individuals to the shelter center.
Ongoing Efforts to Protect Vulnerable Groups
This initiative is part of the continuous efforts undertaken by local authorities to mitigate the impact of harsh weather conditions and to strengthen a proximity-based, humanitarian intervention approach in favor of homeless people, particularly during periods of extreme cold.
The intervention was widely welcomed, as it reflects a strong sense of responsibility and solidarity, and confirms the commitment of local authorities to safeguarding the dignity and safety of vulnerable populations.
