2025 Security Balance: “Fez Medina” Tops the Safest Zones, While “Zouagha” Records the Highest Intervention Rates

Fez – January 2026

The media and field monitoring of the security situation in Fez throughout 2025 has yielded a precise classification of the city’s six districts. This report highlights the varying security landscape and the distribution of police interventions across the prefecture.

The Security Map: Fez Medina Leads, Agdal Follows

The Fez Medina district secured the top spot as the safest and most stable area in 2025. This achievement is attributed to the proactive security strategy implemented by the Tourist Police. Agdal district followed in second place, maintaining its tranquility as the administrative center and the modern heart of the city.

Middle Rankings: Activity in Saïss and Progress in Jnan El Ouard

In the middle of the rankings, Saïss district came third, witnessing intense security activity to keep pace with urban expansion and high student density. It was followed by Jnan El Ouard in fourth place, which showed a significant improvement in its security indicators compared to previous years.

High-Intervention Zones: Challenges in Zouagha and El Mariniyine

Conversely, at the bottom of the list were El Mariniyine (5th) and Zouagha, which ranked sixth. The latter, specifically within the Bensouda jurisdiction, recorded the highest number of police interventions and cleanup campaigns throughout the year. These operations are part of a comprehensive strategy by the Fez Police Prefecture to dry up the sources of crime and dismantle criminal networks in high-density neighborhoods.
