The General Directorate of Meteorology announced that several regions of the Kingdom are expected to experience a cold wave starting Friday and lasting through Sunday, according to an orange-level weather alert.
The directorate explained that the episode will be marked by a significant drop in temperatures, forecast to range between –3°C and –8°C, particularly in inland and mountainous areas.
According to official data, the cold conditions will affect the provinces and prefectures of Taza, Ouarzazate, Taroudant, Tinghir, Al Haouz, Chichaoua, Azilal, Beni Mellal, Ifrane, Khénifra, Midelt, Boulemane, Sefrou, and Guercif, throughout the period from Friday to Sunday.
The General Directorate of Meteorology urged citizens—especially in the affected areas—to exercise caution and take necessary precautions to cope with the sharp temperature drop, in order to avoid potential health or safety risks.
