Fès – Thanks to a proactive plan overseen by its regional management, the Regional Multi-Service Company (SRM Fès–Meknès) has succeeded in securing water supply and wastewater networks and in effectively dealing with the recent weather fluctuations that affected the region, sparing residents from the recurring “disaster scenarios” experienced in the past.
According to field data, the company’s general management adopted a preventive intervention strategy, rather than relying solely on crisis response. Technical teams equipped with modern machinery were deployed across sensitive areas in the prefectures and provinces of the Fès–Meknès region, both before and during the peak of heavy rainfall and snowfall.
This well-planned approach, closely supervised on the ground by the regional director, made it possible to absorb large volumes of rainwater, particularly at several bridges and major road axes that were previously known as “black spots” causing traffic paralysis. The interventions also included snow removal operations and ensuring the continuity of drinking water and electricity supply in mountainous areas under the company’s jurisdiction.
This field success reflects the new orientation of SRM, based on proximity to citizens and rapid response, marking a clear break from traditional management practices. It has also generated noticeable satisfaction among residents, who reported improved service quality and prompt handling of complaints through the customer relations center.
