Warning! 108 Drugs in 2026 May Pose Serious Health Risks

The medical journal “Prescrire” revealed in its annual 2026 report that 108 drugs are considered more dangerous than beneficial, including 89 drugs available in France, according to Le Figaro.

The journal explained that the list includes commonly used medications that can cause disproportionate side effects, sometimes leading to hospitalization or even death. The list is updated annually to add new drugs or remove others based on reassessment of the benefit-risk balance or discontinuation of the drug.

In 2026, four new drugs were added due to weak efficacy or disproportionate side effects:

  • Andexanet Alpha
  • Chondroitin
  • Vesolinantant
  • Gevapixant
