A number of residents of the Al-Marja neighborhood in Fez city have launched an urgent humanitarian appeal to local authorities and charitable associations, calling for immediate intervention to rescue a homeless person who spends his nights on the sidewalk in very harsh conditions, especially with the drop in temperatures during these days.
The person in question is located beside the parking lot opposite Counselor Hassan Lashkar café, near Al-Ghufran Mosque, under the jurisdiction of the Oued Fez – Al-Marja administrative annex.
Eyewitnesses confirmed that the elderly man spends his days and nights lying on the sidewalk, without adequate cover or shelter, relying on whatever food or simple material assistance passersby offer him, in a scene that has aroused great sympathy among neighborhood residents and visitors to the adjacent café.
Citizens who contacted media outlets and local pages directed an explicit appeal:
“We request from the concerned authorities – Oued Fez district authority, Al-Marja administrative annex, Fez Municipal Council, Al-Birr Wal-Ihsane Association, or any charitable organization – urgent intervention to shelter this man and rescue him from sleeping in the open, before his health condition deteriorates with the winter cold.”
The person in question remains at the same location as of Sunday evening, December 7, 2025, awaiting swift intervention from the responsible authorities.
