Launch of “Care 2025-2026” Operation to Address the Effects of Cold Waves on Mountain and Rural Populations

In implementation of the Royal Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, aimed at providing necessary healthcare to populations affected by cold waves, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection announced today, Wednesday, December 3, 2025, the launch of the “Care 2025-2026” operation, which will run from November 15, 2025, to March 30, 2026.

The operation covers 31 provinces across eight regions most affected by cold and snow, including the entire Fes-Meknes region (provinces of Boulemane, Ifrane, Sefrou, Taza, Taounate, and El Hajeb).

Main Objectives of “Care 2025-2026” Operation:

  • Ensuring accessible and immediate health services for isolated populations in mountain and rural areas.
  • Strengthening 523 health centers in affected areas with staff, medicines, and equipment.
  • Conducting 3,528 field visits by mobile medical units to isolated douars and villages.
  • Organizing 183 specialized medical caravans and mini medical campaigns.
  • Providing immediate care for emergency cases and chronic patients.

Mobilized Resources:

  • 2,817 health professionals (doctors, nurses, pharmacists, technicians).
  • Mobile units equipped with ultrasound devices, analysis laboratories, mobile dental chairs, and vision screening equipment.
  • An exceptional budget of 11.320 million dirhams for medicines and medical products, plus 2.582 million dirhams for fuel and maintenance.

Fes-Meknes Region at the Heart of the Operation

The region includes six provinces among the targeted areas (Boulemane, Ifrane, Sefrou, Taza, Taounate, El Hajeb), where dozens of douars in the Middle Atlas are currently experiencing complete isolation due to snow. These areas will benefit from dozens of mobile medical units and specialized caravans in the coming weeks.

Call for Partnership

The Ministry calls on local authorities, governors, provincial administrators, elected councils, the private sector, and civil society organizations to intensify coordination and contribute to the success of this national humanitarian operation.
