For the fourth consecutive day, Monday, October 6, the attempts to organize any form of street protests by “Generation Z” groups in the city of Fez have failed, coinciding with the emergence of an opposing movement within these digital groups calling to end what they describe as “digital deception” and to halt the futile protest calls.
In a testimony from one member who opposed the leaders’ approach, he revealed that encouragement and admiration were his allies as long as he played the role of an instigator, but he faced organized suppression as soon as he expressed a dissenting opinion.
The same speaker confirmed that he was a victim of “digital deception,” where slogans that appeared to be about rights were actually, in essence, “a right intended for wrongful purposes,” aimed at exploiting the enthusiasm of youth and directing them toward undisclosed agendas. This, he explained, accounts for the gap between the virtual mobilization and the complete lack of response on the ground.
