Gas Cylinder Explosion Claims the Lives of Two Children and Devastates a Family in Kaf Al-Ghar: A Tragedy Shakes Douar Al-Rokba

Douar Al-Rokba Oulad Wargha Al-Mouhrine, in the Kaf Al-Ghar commune of Taza province, witnessed a tragic incident last Saturday following the explosion of a small gas cylinder inside a family home. The explosion resulted in injuries of varying severity among family members, including two cases described as critical.

The victims were initially transported to the University Hospital Center in Fez before some were transferred to specialized burn treatment hospitals in Meknes and Casablanca due to the serious nature of their injuries. The father, Al-Hussein, and his wife remained under medical supervision in Meknes, while their nine-year-old son Maher, along with his late sister and mother, were transferred to a specialized hospital in Casablanca.

Hours after their arrival, the young girl Najwa succumbed to her injuries, followed shortly after by the death of Maher due to his severe burns, raising the death toll amid deep shock and sorrow that engulfed the family and local community.

Meanwhile, the father continues treatment at Meknes hospital, and the mother remains in a critical condition in the intensive care unit in Casablanca. The accident also caused extensive material damage to the house, compounding the family’s hardship in this painful tragedy that deeply affected the local society.
