The Algerian national team delegation arrived this Sunday morning at Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca, preparing for the anticipated match against Guinea scheduled for Monday, as part of the eighth round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
The delegation was welcomed at the airport by Tariq Najm, General Secretary of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, who greeted the team and its president, Walid Saadi, upon their arrival.
The “Fennecs” traveled on a special flight directly to Casablanca earlier today, where they are set to play their decisive match to continue their path toward World Cup qualification at the Stade Mohammed V, starting at 4:00 PM.
Regarding the squad, defender Rami Bensebaini and striker Baghdad Bounedjah will miss the match due to suspensions, while left-back Jouan Hijam returns to the team after missing the last game against Botswana for family reasons.
Algeria leads Group 7 with 18 points, six points ahead of Uganda and Mozambique, and eight points clear of Guinea. The team needs only two points to secure qualification for the 2026 World Cup finals.
Algeria is close to clinching early qualification if they win against Guinea and Uganda either draws or loses against Somalia, the group’s bottom-ranked team, in matches scheduled for Monday.
