Fez Bids Farewell to a Duty Martyr: Funeral Procession for Officer Noureddine Sayyad

Fez, Morocco – In an atmosphere of sadness and sorrow, the funeral of police officer Noureddine Sayyad was held today after Friday prayers. He passed away yesterday due to severe injuries sustained in a knife attack while on duty in the town of Imouzzer Kandar.

The majestic funeral procession took place at the Ouislane cemetery in the Bab Ftouh neighborhood of Fez. It was attended by a large number of the deceased’s family members, his colleagues from the National Security, as well as a crowd of citizens who came from Fez and Imouzzer Kandar to express their solidarity with the family and their appreciation for his sacrifice.

The victim was ambushed by a 63-year-old individual, believed to be suffering from mental disorders, while he was directing traffic. The assailant inflicted critical stab wounds that ultimately led to the officer’s death.

In a gesture of appreciation for the late officer’s sacrifice, the Director-General of National Security had issued a decision to posthumously promote the deceased to the rank of officer. He also gave instructions to fully cover the funeral arrangements and provide necessary support to his family, honoring his dedication to his professional duty.
