Rabat Al-Khair: Suspect Arrested in Brutal Family Murder Case

In a swift and coordinated security operation, the Royal Gendarmerie forces from Rabat Al-Khair and Tahala, in close cooperation with the National Security services in Taza, arrested a young man suspected of committing a horrific murder within his own family. The arrest took place in the early hours of Wednesday, June 25, 2025, in the Rabat Al-Khair commune, Sefrou Province.

The suspect, identified as B.K., born in 1999 and aged 26, is accused of launching a violent attack using a sharp weapon against his family members while they were asleep inside their home. The assault resulted in the death of his brother and left his father, another brother, and sister with critical injuries. The wife of the deceased brother managed to escape unharmed.

According to security sources, the injured were immediately transported to Hassan II University Hospital in Fes, where their conditions were described as “critical.” Authorities launched a wide search operation covering the Zrarda and Tahala areas.

The suspect was located in the city of Taza while attempting to flee toward the eastern region. A precise and coordinated intervention involving multiple security agencies led to his arrest.

Ongoing Investigations

The suspect has been placed under judicial custody by order of the competent public prosecutor. Investigations are ongoing to determine the motives and circumstances behind this shocking crime, which has deeply unsettled the local community, especially given the rarity and brutality of such acts in this normally peaceful area.
