Qatar Intercepts Iranian Missiles and Closes Airspace Following Attack on Al Udeid Air Base

Doha – The Qatari Ministry of Defense announced on Monday evening that Qatar’s air defenses successfully intercepted a missile attack targeting Al Udeid Air Base. The ministry confirmed that the incident caused no casualties or injuries.

According to the Qatari News Agency, the ministry reaffirmed that the airspace and territory of the State of Qatar remain secure, and that the Qatari Armed Forces are always on high alert to respond to any potential threats.

Qatar strongly condemned the attack carried out by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard on Al Udeid Air Base, describing it as a blatant violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and airspace, as well as a breach of international law and the United Nations Charter.

The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Qatar reserves the right to respond directly in a manner proportional to the scale and nature of this blatant aggression, in accordance with international law. The ministry added, “We reassure that Qatar’s air defenses successfully thwarted the attack and intercepted the Iranian missiles.”

This Iranian strike on the U.S. Al Udeid Base in Qatar came in retaliation for recent U.S. attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities. Explosions were heard across the capital, Doha, this evening, coinciding with Qatar’s closure of its airspace amid escalating regional security developments.
