French investigations accuse Tebboune of ordering an attempted assassination of an opponent on its soil

Paris/Algiers: A resounding scandal has shaken the political and media circles in France and Algeria after independent French investigations revealed the potential involvement of the highest echelons of Algerian authority in an attempted kidnapping and assassination of the well-known opponent “Amir Dz” on French territory.

According to what was published by the newspaper “Le Journal du Dimanche,” an officer in the Algerian intelligence services, belonging to the Directorate General for External Security (DGSE) and currently detained in France, made serious confessions. He allegedly stated that the Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune directly issued the order to carry out the operation.

These confessions, which have not been officially confirmed by the French or Algerian authorities, have placed senior Algerian officials in the spotlight of accusation and revealed the potential involvement of the intelligence services in a failed assassination plot that could have ignited a major diplomatic crisis between Paris and Algiers.

The operation ended in failure, and the French authorities were able to arrest a number of suspects, including an Algerian diplomat who was later found to be working for the Algerian intelligence services and is now under investigation by the French judiciary.

The case has sparked widespread anger and resentment on social media, amid questions about the extent of the Algerian regime’s involvement in covert operations on the territory of sovereign states and the fate of French-Algerian relations after this scandal.

So far, no official comment has been issued by the Algerian presidency or the French government regarding these accusations.
