Mohammedia: The Moroccan U17 national team has secured their place in the final of the U17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) after a thrilling penalty shootout victory (4-3) over Ivory Coast, following a goalless draw (0-0) at the end of regulation time. The semi-final clash took place this Tuesday evening at the El Bachir Stadium in Mohammedia.
In a nail-biting encounter largely dominated by the Atlas Cubs, the Moroccan U17 squad achieved a remarkable feat, overcoming a formidable Ivory Coast side to clinch a coveted spot in the final of the U17 Africa Cup of Nations.
Earlier in the evening, Mali also booked their place in the final after defeating Burkina Faso 2-0 in their semi-final match held at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca.
The highly anticipated final is scheduled to take place next Saturday at the El Bachir Stadium, while the third-place playoff will be contested the day before at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca. Both matches are set to kick off at 20:00 GMT+1.
