German Justice Authorizes the Extradition of Mohamed Boudrika to Morocco

Berlin – April 24, 2025 – The extradition of Mohamed Boudrika, the former president of Raja Casablanca football club, to Morocco now appears imminent. German justice has approved the decision to hand over the former leader of the Green Eagles to Moroccan authorities.

According to recent information relayed by DW, Mohamed Boudrika, who has been incarcerated in Germany for nearly a year, should thus be repatriated soon. German justice has validated the extradition request formulated by Morocco, after the Federal Constitutional Court rejected the appeal filed by his defense.

DW reported that the Federal Constitutional Court ruled on April 4, 2025, deciding not to accept the constitutional appeal aimed at blocking the extradition procedure. German justice invoked a clause in its legislation allowing it not to justify this decision.

According to the same source, the German public prosecutor’s office specified that “all that currently remains is the effective implementation of the extraction process,” meaning the handover of the wanted person to Moroccan authorities. It can therefore be affirmed that the net is tightening around the former RNI (National Rally of Independents) parliamentarian and leader of the Greens, who has been on the run for over a year.

Thus, no more “escape routes” are open to Boudrika to avoid his extradition. However, no exact date for his arrival on Moroccan soil has been communicated. As a reminder, Boudrika was the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by Morocco. Sensing a tsunami of legal problems approaching, he had left the Kingdom and had even simulated a certain surgical intervention in a clinic in the United Kingdom.

His presence in Germany reportedly dates back to the end of the Botola Pro league season. While his former club, Raja, was grappling with serious financial difficulties, the coach at the time, Josef Zinnbauer, was threatening to leave. Boudrika allegedly decided to meet him in Germany to discuss the club’s future. It was upon his arrival at Hamburg Airport that he was arrested.

Spain is also seeking Boudrika, having issued an international search warrant against him. He is allegedly involved in illicit financial transactions in that country. In Morocco, the justice system suspects him of being involved in numerous cases, notably the issuance of bounced checks, the marketing of fictitious off-plan properties, embezzlement, forgery of documents, and the use of false documents. The list of accusations is extensive.
