Rabat – April 24, 2025 – The National Observatory for the Education and Training System, in a statement received by [Name of News Platform], praised the responsiveness and interaction shown by the Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, Dr. Ezzeddine Midaoui, during a meeting held between the two parties on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at the Ministry’s headquarters in Rabat.
The statement issued by the Observatory, headed by Professor Mohamed Derouiche, indicated that the meeting, which lasted for over two hours, began with the Observatory’s President extending thanks and appreciation to the Minister on behalf of all members for his responsiveness and interaction, reiterating his congratulations on the royal trust bestowed upon him and wishing him success in serving the public interest and higher education issues. The nature of the Observatory’s work and the noble objectives for which it was established by higher and secondary education professors, within the framework of the Moroccan Constitution and various initiatives undertaken in numerous files, were also highlighted. The Observatory’s President noted the “dynamic witnessed by the higher education sector on several fronts in an atmosphere characterized by the gradual return of stability and reassurance.”
For his part, the Minister welcomed the Observatory’s members, commending the “noble roles they play in defending, advocating for, monitoring, and evaluating the education and training system from primary to higher education.” According to the statement, the Minister recalled their “pivotal roles in numerous files, including the contract teachers’ issue, doctoral graduates’ campaign, and the medical and pharmacy students’ file, among others,” noting his “pride in this serious, responsible, and civic action and acknowledging the trust of students, professors, families, and officials in the Observatory, as well as the special place it holds with national public opinion in general and the higher education sector in particular.”
The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on a range of issues concerning the higher education, scientific research, and innovation system, and to recall the history of higher education in Morocco, its key milestones, and the primary roles of the sector’s human resources in developing the system and advancing its noble roles and missions to truly make higher education a driving force for development at all levels and in all fields in service of the nation.
According to the statement, the Minister of Higher Education affirmed his “commitment to defending the status of higher education as a function and a mission, and the working, training, supervision, and research conditions specific to its components (students, professors, and administrative staff),” emphasizing the “necessity of everyone working within the legal provisions governing higher education, scientific research, and innovation, foremost among which is the autonomy of universities and institutions, with full respect for their structures in accordance with the governing laws, in preparation for the major projects the Ministry is working on, in which consultations and listening sessions will be held with all partners and stakeholders.”
