Salé: Officers from the Regional Security of Salé were compelled to use their service weapons cautiously today, Tuesday, April 15th, to apprehend an individual involved in a serious physical assault, after he refused to comply with orders and endangered the safety of citizens and their property.
Security sources reported that a patrol from the Public Security in the old city of Salé had intervened to arrest the 35-year-old suspect for his involvement in committing assault and battery using a bladed weapon. However, the individual violently resisted arrest and refused to obey police orders, threatening the safety of the patrol officers and nearby citizens.
Faced with this dangerous situation and to avert the imminent threat posed by the suspect, the security patrol officers resorted to using their service weapons cautiously, firing warning shots into the air. This action enabled them to subdue the individual and disarm him of the bladed weapon he possessed.
The suspect has been placed in police custody under the instructions of the competent public prosecutor for a thorough judicial investigation into the circumstances, details, and background of this assault, and to determine all the criminal acts attributed to him.
