King Mohammed VI Congratulates Oligui Nguema on His Election as President of Gabon

King Mohammed VI sent a congratulatory message to Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema on the occasion of his election as President of Gabon.

“I congratulate you on the trust that the Gabonese people have placed in you by electing you, in the first round, to the supreme office of your country, following the political transition that you led,” the King wrote in his message, expressing his best wishes for success “in your high mission in service of the prosperity of Gabon and its people.”

The Sovereign emphasized that the Kingdom of Morocco and Gabon offer “a model of fruitful, lasting, and solidarity-based South-South and inter-African cooperation,” adding that “our two peoples are united by a rich and deep friendship.”

The King assured the Gabonese President of “the Kingdom’s readiness to continue determined work with your brotherly country to strengthen these privileged ties and expand the scope of bilateral cooperation in areas of common interest.”
